If I Remove The Metal Mesh And Foam From A Standard Microphone Will The Recording Sound Clearer?

So if i remove the ';outer layers'; from the microphone will it sounds better? Like recording studio quality?

Also where can i get the same type of microphone that is used in a recording studio?If I Remove The Metal Mesh And Foam From A Standard Microphone Will The Recording Sound Clearer?
No. The wire mesh and foam covering are accoustically transparent. The wire mesh protects the end of the microphone from accidental damage (like by dropping it) and the foam keeps the end of the microphone clean.

You can get studio-quality microphones at music stores or on-line (eBay).

Can 9 yr olds get the ';clear braces'; put on instead of the metal?

The orthodontist that I went to puts clear braces on kids. The down side is that they take longer, cost more, and that they tend to discolor. Plus kids don't always have the whitest of teeth so they don't always blend in. They like to do the bottom ones in metal too. And if they to the tops in clear the kids miss out in picking fun colors - but it can be done!Can 9 yr olds get the ';clear braces'; put on instead of the metal?
If you mean the regular clear braces that you get at the orthodontist I don' t know why not. Although my sister had those, and they looked yellow all the time, so it looked like she had yellow teeth.Can 9 yr olds get the ';clear braces'; put on instead of the metal?
Yes they can all you have to do is ask!
Yes.
yes, I recommend asking the dentist before wasting 5 points where you could have got an answer from your dentist! :-)
You mean invisalign? Not unless they have very minor teeth problens. Tradidtional braces are much faster.

Another option: Damon braces, half clear, half metal, works super fast.
I'm not sure but you don't want to. I have braces and don't hate them. I'm happy that they're fixing my teeth. Just don't worry.

A question about REVOLVER OCELOT in the Metal Gear Solid series!??!?!?!?!? clear the air for me please?!?

okay, I am a HUUUUUGE Metal Gear Solid fan, I have all of them including the NES ones from MGS3 Subsistence, but someone who I never really understood was Revolver Ocelot, I mean I KNOW who he is and what some of his intentions are but it's still confusing, I know that in Snake Eater he was a spy for the Russians and the Americans and he helped create the Patriots, in MGS1 I know that he was in league with Solidus and killed the DARPA CHIEF Sigint on purpose, then in Sons of Liberty he's Liquid Ocelot and he's with the Patriots and !!!! by the time i'm in Guns of The Patriots i'm pretty lost as to who he is and who is making decisions and for what purpose, in MGS4 is it Liquid? or Ocelot pretending to be liquid?! or BOTH of them to create ONE?!?! or what?!?!

can someone PLEEEEASE explain to me Ocelots TRUE intentions as both Liquid Ocelot, Ocelot and Revolver Ocelot?!?

it's really confusing

thanks!A question about REVOLVER OCELOT in the Metal Gear Solid series!??!?!?!?!? clear the air for me please?!?
he was liquids right hand man when liquid died he took his arm and he survives through out the game yet the arm is possessed by ocelot so liquid sometime takes over ocelots body and mind.A question about REVOLVER OCELOT in the Metal Gear Solid series!??!?!?!?!? clear the air for me please?!?
DUDE Ocelot was faking being possessed by Liquid so he could trick the Patriot A.I and learn where they where hiding so he could kill them and free the world from there controle.

Traditional/Metal Braces vs. Ceramic/Clear Braces?

I'm a 20yo female getting braces on TOMORROW for the first time, and I am in a major dilemma. Money is not an issue in this decision, because ceramics cost the same as metal braces. Also, I have to get metal braces on my bottom teeth no matter what. What I'm more worried about is the look of them, but I'm kind of opposite of everyone... I don't care about the looks of the metal braces, but I'm worried the ceramic braces are going to look weird. Also, I drink coffee often, and eat a lot of foods with red sauce, so I'm very concerned with staining. However, I've also heard that ceramic braces are more comfortable than metal braces. So... I just don't know! I'd really appreciate any and all opinions, experiences, and advice regarding this matter! Thanks!Traditional/Metal Braces vs. Ceramic/Clear Braces?
I have ceramic on top and metal on the bottom, and the ceramic seems to cause less irritation, coz the metal on the bottom has made my cheeks all cut. The ceramic is also usually slightly larger then metal brackets, but not all that different. I dont know anything about the staining and stuff as i have only recently gotten mineeee. good luck (:Traditional/Metal Braces vs. Ceramic/Clear Braces?
Congrats on your braces! :) Mine come off in a month, I just got the news today and am ESTATIC.

Anyway, from perspective of someone who had metal braces for a year and a half, I would consider the cermatic if your worried about the insides of your mouth getting torn up. They will give you wax to use, but sometimes it can be a pain. Also, with metal braces you have to take care of what you eat. No biting into carrots, corn on the cob, sticky candy.. POPCORN KERNALS (which broke my bracket 4 times XD). But yeah. I think metal braces look cute though. Thats partly why I chose them over cermatic. I'm not going to lie though, there was times when I wish I would've choosen cermatic. But now that its almost over, I'm really happy with my choice. And luckily the inside of my mouth has healed.

Good luck with your choice.

Are metal brackets on braces more flatter and comfortable than clear ones?

I have ceramic on top and metal on the bottom. I don't notice a difference between the two. Some people say that the ceramic are bulkier than metal but they feel the same to me. If I had to make the decision again I would either stick with what I have or go with all ceramic.Are metal brackets on braces more flatter and comfortable than clear ones?
personaly i had them and they stick out like a sore thumb and not very attractive.comfortible though.Are metal brackets on braces more flatter and comfortable than clear ones?
I'm not sure about comfort - they rub a lot! But, they don't pop off as easily. If you have severe misalignment, the metal is better. If you are just straightening a few teeth, then they say you can go with clear.
I think the invisalign (clear) are bigger than the metal braces. You get so used to the metal braces that you can not even feel them at all.
I have braces and I think they're fine after 5 days of getting them on. Sometimes I can't even tell I have braces on. My old freind had the clear ones and he said that he could always tell he had braces on, so maybe the metal ones are flatter. Plus, I noticed that the clear ones kind of look like you have gross plaque on your teeth, you really have to look to notice they are braces. So just a helpful tip but I think you should just got with the metal ones!!! Hope this helps and doesn't offend anyone!!! xoxo

Clear braces vs metal braces!!!!?

Im getting braces fitted soon - the ortho says I could go for the metal damon braces, or clear braces. He said it doesnt make a difference to the price OR the treatment time, i will just have to come in more often to have the bands changed.

I met someone with damon braces today and she said clear braces take longer to straighten teeth? Is this true? My ortho says theres no difference in time between the clear ones i want and the damon ones. HELP PLSClear braces vs metal braces!!!!?
Metal...Even when you brush correctly everyday, they ten to turn brown and stain and it makes your teeth look really nasty!Clear braces vs metal braces!!!!?
you denist is wrong. clear braces take about 2-3 months longer then regular metal ones. This is because with metal you can pull them tighter and get your teeth straighter soon. The clear ones are actually ceramic and cant be pulled as tight as quickly because they can break. so you have to pull them a lot slower this takes longer then metal. Clear ones also general cost a couple hundred dollars more i have clear on top and metal on bottom. you can not see my bottom braces so i got metal but you can see the top so i got clear.
I had the Damon braces about three years ago. Not only was I not very sore ever because of how they work (wire slides through Damon brackets friction-free as opposed to each clear bracket being tied to wire with elastics and causing much more pressure) but I didn't have to worry about staining of the elastics, the ceramic brackets breaking or wearing down which they will do and when you have your braces removed, the clear brackets often break and have to be grinded off. I also worked for the orthodontist and he tried to tell me I could get the clear ones instead but I preferred the Damons. I was 32 when I got them on and they are very small brackets so it was never a cosmetic issue with me.
I had the same question when I got mine on. My Orthodontist recommended the Damon (metal) braces. He said the clear ones cost about 2 grand more and they DO take longer to move the teeth. Do some research on the net and make you own opinion. I am 30 year old and I am also a manager of a large Home Improvement store. I went with the metal. I was a bit shy about what everyone would say at first but I got used to them and so did they. Its not as big of a deal as I made it out to be.
I got the metal ones because the clear braces take longer to fix teeth.

Good Luck on your choice.

= )
metal
clear ones take longer but they are nicer
  • Fish
  • Should i get ceramic(clear)braces on top and the metal on bottom or should i just get both of them metal?

    IMO ceramic braces look kind of gross, especially if they get stained. And it generally makes teeth look yellow and deformed and plus they are more expensive and take longer. I would just go with metal.Should i get ceramic(clear)braces on top and the metal on bottom or should i just get both of them metal?
    To reduce your cost you might consider getting clear braces on top, and metal on the bottom, however if cost is not an issue then I would recommend clear braces. I just got mine removed 3 weeks ago (had them for 2yrs 1/2).Should i get ceramic(clear)braces on top and the metal on bottom or should i just get both of them metal?
    They will both do the job. If you are concerned about looks I would check out invisalign. Not all people are good candidates but it is worth checking into. These are great because you can take them out to brush and floss and eat. You shouldn't leave them out for more than 2 hours though. I have seen the white braces and after a time they start to turn yellow and sometimes it looks like you don't brush very well. If you aren't a good candidate for invisalign I would probably go with the metal.
    metal. the others will stain.

    Clear or Metal braces?

    I'm a teenager whose getting braces tomorrow and have been pretty bummed about it since I heard the news. However, I've been posed with the question of clear or metal braces? The metals are the basic braces that you see mostly everybody wearing and are a bit smaller than the clear ones...But they are in my opinion a bit more noticeable. The clear ones are bigger but said to be less noticeable, people have been saying they do stain so that's another con.

    I really don't know what to do but I'm open for anyyy ideas just back up your desicion and I'd be so happy to hear it!Clear or Metal braces?
    Clear get clear! Metal hurts worse and stuff because they are rough on your gums. Also put on wax on the back part of your teeth to make pain stop if it starts feeling like scratches.Clear or Metal braces?
    depends on how self consious u feel but i would go with metal. i have them and they are very small! theyre not as bad as they sound. the clear DO stain teeth more but that is up to u. i have metal that cannot change colors (o rings) they r even smaller than the colored ones. if u have any other questions u can email me. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DECISION!
    go clear they are less visible
    I have wondered about this, silver versus invisible or white. I have decided that I would prefer to make my braces obvious than to have people mistake the opaque bracket around my mouth was a filmy overgrowth.

    That's my conclusion :)
    I would say metel because 1) they cost less 2) You wont stand out. and 3) because you can get them in color! (is that a dumb reason? Yes.)
    i have the metal ones and they look fine.

    I had a friend who got the clear ones and it looked silly, her teeth looked massive. everyone knows you have braces anyway, they don't look any less visible. They're more expensive and my friend's got stained from food and looked gross.

    trust me, metal is the way to go.
    I had clear 2 years ago. My son has metal now. My son's braces are always breaking. I never had a problem with the clear staining. I would get the clear ones again, but they cost a lot nmore
    I actually like the metal ones. I think they make people look cute and innocent lol. I actually want bracers but cant afford it!!
    i'de say get the metal. i know that clear would be nice so you couldn't really see them, but trust me, get the medal. that clear aren't that good with your teeth. as in when eat you can see all the food that gets stuck on them also stains. but metal is matalic so thay will not get stained so bad and they look a lot better.
    The clear will take longer to correct your teeth. As much as 6 months or longer. So go with the metal. I had the clear and wore braces for 2-1/2 years.

    Whats the difference between metal and clear braces?

    which ones are better and whats the differencesWhats the difference between metal and clear braces?
    clear ones cost more than metal ones. i think the metal ones are better, they're used when your teeth are really bad, clear ones are used when they aren't that messed up.

    Metal Braces or Ceramic (clear) Braces!?

    Im getting braces sometime this month and I am debating weather or not to get Metal Braces or Ceramic Braces...what i've read so far was that Metal Braces dont look as good BUT you dont have to wear them as long. But for Ceramic Braces it looks good because its less noticable but you have to wear them for longer. Im not sure if these statements are true but could you please add more information like Pros and Cons about these 2 types and which do you prefer and why?Metal Braces or Ceramic (clear) Braces!?
    well i have metal braces and i hate it!!

    it really hurts and pokes at your gum plus food always gets caught on them, everytime they tighten them your teeth really hurt, and at least on me i think that they don't look that great that would be the cons

    i guess the pros what you said you wear them for less amount of time and i think they cost a lot less then clear ones

    i would say the pros of clear are i doubt they hurt as much, people can't really tell you have them (they look better), they wouldn't be hurting your gums and inside your mouth, and food probably doesn't get stuck in them as much, i don't have these so i'm not sure but i would assume that this is true

    the only cons then would be that you wear them for longer, but that doesn't seem that bad cause you can't really see them and everything and that they cost more

    as you can probably tell i favor the clear ones and if i could i would go back and have those instead but my mom didn't want to spend that much money but yea it also comes down to if you don't mind about it hurting that much and what they look like getting the metal ones will go faster it does take a lot longer for the clear braces to move your teeth but still if i had a choice i would choose the clear ones definitelyMetal Braces or Ceramic (clear) Braces!?
    I think metal braces might be better for you.i mean i have clear braces and i kinda wish i had the metal ones in the first place coz clear braces are like WAYYY more expensive than metal ones.But the main reason behind me getting the clear ones is that i was really embarrassed of looking all metalish and look funny.But really i think u should just go with the metal ones and it wont make any difference coz my clear braces get stained when i eat too much colored food and i have to wait until my next appointment until they change the rubber thingy around them.And of course u tell ur orthodontist to change the rubber bands to another colour other than white for examp (baby blue,grey,pink.....etc) any colour u want so the food wont stain on it.

    Anyway,whatever u choose will be alright.Coz as u see everyone wants what they don't have so...:P

    Hope i helped
    i have metal braces and i only have to wear them 18 months , which is only a year and a half %26amp; i absolutely love them. They're fun because you can get colored elastics. Im not sure if ceramic braces do this, but metal braces do tend to have little disfunctions here and there, like a bracket coming dislodged from the tooth, or an elastic falling off. These things can happen just from eating or brushing your teeth.
    To the first person: Ceramic braces do NOT look gross.

    And to answer your question. I have 6 front teeth (top and bottom) that are ceramic since no one can see the rest of my teeth. They do not stain. They will only stain if you don't brush your teeth ever or if you get them from a bad company (cheap and look like ceramic but they really aren't). Trust me I eat food that people on the internet wrote that stain ceramic braces and they never did. If you have really crowded and crooked teeth, ceramic will look bad but once they're straight (about 6 months after) they look really nice. You don't wear them longer than metal braces.

    I got my from this company

    http://www.gacinovation.com/

    If you don't mind paying extra then get those. They don't have elastics.

    I love my ceramic braces.

    I payed $5,600 for mine because I live in Chicago (everything's more expensive here) and the office I go to is really good.
    Metal braces. They look Better because the clear ones stain easily... And the clear ones make it look like your teeth are really damaged and gross. And if you dont have to have them on as londefiantlyey metal!

    Does anybody know what those clear thing they use to cuff people instead of the metal ones.?

    yea im trying to buy those clear long strap thing...is it called a fasteneR or secure straps...im not sure...but its the one where its really impossible to take off unless with a knife or scissors..used mostly for puttin wires together or anythign together without having to worry itll be taken off.....but its definitely similar to the ones police uses to handcuff people instead of using the metal ones....whats the name of it...thanks... lolDoes anybody know what those clear thing they use to cuff people instead of the metal ones.?
    my hubby is an electrician and he calls them tie wraps. you can get them at most hardware stores. they also have a huge assortment at Lowe's and Home Depot.Does anybody know what those clear thing they use to cuff people instead of the metal ones.?
    i believe those have a nick name or perhaps a patented name of ';tie wraps'; the police ones are double and special made for that use you will only be able to get single ones at some place's like lowes or home depot. i had better not hear about a double homicide or something equally stupid involving you and tie wraps. and don't use them for sex they can have very sharp edges. tmm
    Here is a whole bunch of different ones: http://www.mouser.com/catalog/635/995.pd鈥?/a>

    Go to www.mouser.com and put tie wrap in the search box. When you get results, click Data Sheet in the column next to Description.

    Good luck.
    they are called ';wire ties';...because electricians use them to fasten groups of wires together. They are really cheap. You can get them in different sizes..and they are available at Walmart and Lowes..just to name a couple of places..
    Are you talking about plastic zip ties? You can buy them in colored plastic or clear. I bought a whole bunch, in different sizes, at Wal-Mart a few years ago. Hope this helps. Good luck!
    wire ties.

    'Clear\white' braces or metal?

    Hi

    Im 20 and am going to get train tracks on tuesday (had them before when I was younger) but not sure whether to get the clear/white or the standard metal/coloured ones?

    ANy suggestions would be good....as im thinking im white would look better, but after some research Ive found that they seem to discolour within 2weeks and make your teeth look stained....has anyone had this type of brace?'Clear\white' braces or metal?
    metal is really good. its stronger and sturdier.'Clear\white' braces or metal?
    Metal, you did it before and you're doing it again, cheaper, quicker, reliable.
    yeah what u read is right, clear does stain and anyway, it looks pretty wierd when all u can see is the wire across your teeth. go with a simple colour if u dont want any1 to see them. if u can, try invislign it only works with some teeth but it looks better coz u cant see them
    what ever floats your boat!
    I had clear ones on top and metal on the lower you don't really see the lower teeth so it will save you a bit of money
    no.
    try pink
    defiently metal-i had clears and whenever I drank coffee it made my braces turn this brownish color for a few hours. Go metal. Try bold colors-they show u r proud of ur brace face!
    Yes I had the clear/white type of brace about a year ago - It was much more expensive that the other ytpe but I chose it because I thought it would be more discreet.

    Looking back it was the wrong decision - within 2 or 3 days of each dental appointment the clear/white brace was discoloured - I felt really self concious because I felt that it looked dirty.

    my dentist had told me to avoid curries and red wine......but I found it impossible to keep it white.

    you have to be constantly thinking about your choice of food...tea/cofee are complete no-nos and I got caught out by the most suprising things......an inocent bowl of carrot and coriander teeth sent my brace bright orange.

    opt for colours and good luck x
    u wanna go for a simple color. nothing flashy, overwise it stands out too much and not white because they make your teeth look yellowish.

    all the best

    x
    I am 24 and in the same boat that you are -- I will be getting braces in a couple weeks and at first I was going to get the ceramic/clear but now I am getting the metal because the clear not only stain, but they are also a bit bulkier too.
    Your rightt,the white seem to hold stain and the metal brackets work faster, so your treatment time is less.

  • Clear pool liner for Intex 15X4 metal frame pool.?

    I can't watch my 7 year old swim unless I stand up. If I had a clear pool liner, I could stay seated and still watch him. Does anyone know if Intex or an after market company make a clear pool liner for the Intex 15X4 Metal Frame Pool? A clear liner would also let me see inside the pool with out having to take the cover off, and I think more exposure to the sun will give me a longer swimming season. Thanks in advance.Clear pool liner for Intex 15X4 metal frame pool.?
    Never seen one when I'd spent 15yrs in the pool biz but, if it can be made, these are the guys to talk to.

    http://www.pacificpools.com/contact.cfm

    Pacific is probably North America's largest manufacturer of pool liners and you likely have a distributer near you. If clear vinyl is available in their inventory, they can make it for you. At the very least, they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

    If you're in Canada, the company goes by the name Technican Pacific and their contact page for questions is here:

    Should I get all metal braces or 6 teeth on the top clear (rest will be metal)?

    My mom has to sign a contract with my orthodontist tomorrow and I have to decide if I want all metal (in-ovation, so there is going to be no color) or 6 brackets that will be clear and the rest metal (on the top). The problem is that the total cost will be $4850 plus $350 for the clear ones.

    So do you think it will look stupid if I get 6 brackets on the top clear (wire will show) or just take all metal? I'm turning 18 soon and starting college next year and I'm really embarrassed to wear braces plus my dad is being a total pain in the a** about the whole situation. He has tons of money and won't pay a cent for my braces and my mom doesn't make that much money.

    Should I even get braces (2 years)? Do you think it's worth it?Should I get all metal braces or 6 teeth on the top clear (rest will be metal)?
    I have braces, and yes they are worth it. I have to have them for 2 years too. They hurt but get over it and take the pain. And yes it will look stupid. But wow yours are cheep, mine were around 7-8 thousand..

    Just get all metal or just all white.

    I have all metal so I can get mine changed on the colors for my sports I play.Should I get all metal braces or 6 teeth on the top clear (rest will be metal)?
    Braces are really only worth it if you will actually wear your retainer, unless your mouth is really messed up.

    Also i would just go with the regular ones. Really the people who you meet that are actually your friends wont care. And really the clear ones look funny because it looks like you teeth are jacked up. And having them that long you will probably want to have fun and put colored bands on them anyway.

    I had them my junior year of high school, and really, i didnt mind them. Just be confident, and really it doesnt matter what other people say.

    A plastic clear retainer vs. a metal one. which one is really better to use?

    well, I used to have a permanent retainer for the bottom. but it got distorted and I had it removed. it made my teeth shift a little...I was to wear a temporary plastic-like retainer until I got my metal (hawley) one. and I know the denitist says ';you'll get used to it'; but ever since I've been wearing it, I feel like Im choking because I just can't get used to the plastic thing in the back. (I am missing one center tooth on the bottom)

    ~~~
    on my top, I've been wearing an invisalign-like retainer for years, and it's been working well!
    ~~~

    I was wondering, cause I'm really getting annoyed, can't an essix(clear plastic) or an invisalign retainer work just as well as a metal one?

    ~~~
    I think it does but I need other opinions. and I wear my retainers just about every night.A plastic clear retainer vs. a metal one. which one is really better to use?
    I would prefer the metal ones because they don't wear out as fast, and if your ortho needs to make adjustments, it woll be really easy. It's what your prefer though :)A plastic clear retainer vs. a metal one. which one is really better to use?
    i had an invisalign retainer for both the top and the bottom...but i chewed through it and they both evintually broke...so now i haad to pay 150 bucks for the top and 150 for the bottom b/c i had to get a spring retainer...so i like the metal ones better b/c they dont wear down as fast
    metal ones, but your orthodonist is the one who should be making this decision.
    Braces: Clear, Colours or Just metal?
    I'm getting braces and I was wondering
    Clear?
    Colours?
    or just the metal ones?
    I do eat alot of food and I'm worried about staining, and I've heard clear take longer and I've been told that I will have them on for more then 2 years, so I want braces that will not take longer then they have to be.
    I'm also worried that the colours will change the way I look completly and draw attention to my mouth alot
    I do talk alot and I think that I expose my teeth fairly often.
    I'm not intresting in the ones that go behind your teeth because frankly I cannot afford them...Braces: Clear, Colours or Just metal?
    the clear ceramic ones cost slightly more than traditional metal braces but they don't have an effect on the amount of time you have them on, The ceramic can't stain but the little rubber bits on the braces can (the bits that can be colored) if you get ceramic braces the orthodontist might put metal brackets at the sides. No matter what people are going to notice braces so you may as well have colorful ones, if you hated the colored bits you could just get them changed next appointmentBraces: Clear, Colours or Just metal?
    I say get metal ones, because then you get to change colors every month.
    I'm 18 and look forward to changing band colors every month.
    However, if you are a girl- I would not suggest purple because it faded pretty quickly.
    colours ! i have colours on now for about a year already and they feel great especially when it's nearing christmas now .. i have red and green xD if you get ceramics i personally feel its very ugly becus it gets stained easily and u jus look like u have food stuck because its not completely invisible . i know all this becus i have frinds with ceramics and they regret it so much !
    xoxo
    clear can stainn and you cant really fix it,
    colours FADE, and get boring, / not very good colours.
    i would get metal. i want the metal ones. i ahve colour.
    Are clear braces less painful and noticeable than regular metal braces? ?
    Less painful? No. Less noticible....a little, if you don't smoke, or drink a lot of tea, coffee, or soda to discolour them.Are clear braces less painful and noticeable than regular metal braces? ?
    No, clear ceramic braces are not any less painful or noticeable than metal braces. Ceramic braces can be stained easier from eating the wrong foods or having drinks like soda and if that happens, you will have them stained until they come off when your treatment is completed. If you want straighter teeth and unnoticeable braces, you cannot get them both. If you are skeptical about whether to get braces in the first place, it might not be the best choice to get them. You will have them for a very long time (more than 700 days) and a lot will be required of you by your orthodontist for a successful treatment.Are clear braces less painful and noticeable than regular metal braces? ?
    personally i think that the clear braces are actually more noticable than the metal ones because the brackets are bigger and they fill out your mouth more and so even if a person cant physically see your braces they can more easily tell that you have them just by the fullness of your mouth....i have the metal ones and some of my friends didnt even know that i had them and i had had them for a year
    The clear braces are called Diamonte's. And yes, they are less painful because the wire isn't fixed in one spot like the normal braces, it slides around through the brackets when you move your jaws. Also, if you have Diamonte's you dont have to wear them for as long as the normal metal ones. They move your teeth faster.
  • Clear braces on top metal on bottom??
    okay so my dentist put clear braces on top and metal on the bottom. i had only top for almost a year. it looks so disgusting. why cant they do clear on bottom too? does any orthodonist do this? they never informed me that clear would only be on top!!!!Clear braces on top metal on bottom??
    That does seem a bit strange.. I had braces for about 4 years %26lt;the real metal kind%26gt; and about 3 years after I got them off my teeth started moving again. I got the clear braces for both the top and bottom from my orthodontist; however, I have a feeling that you can only use the clear ones for specific kind of movement. Maybe your bottom needs more dramatic movement than your top?? If not.. definately either ask the Dr. that put them in or schedule an appt. with an orthodontist and ask what they think is going on - get a second opinion. Good luck!Clear braces on top metal on bottom??
    I just got braces 2 weeks ago and have clear on the top and metal on the bottom. They did this because the metal braces are strong and as your teeth pull back they shouldn't break.
    well the metal ones are more durable than the clear. i've never heard of different on top and bottom. did you ask him/her why they did that? just bear w/ it i guess and wear ur retainers so u dont have to get them again!
    Clear orthodontic brackets are made of ceramic. Ceramic can be abrasive to teeth. This is why sometimes someone with a crown on one tooth will eventually see the tooth it hits (opposes) starting to ';wear away.';
    Is it *possible* to do ceramic on both the top and bottom but because the backs (lingual side) of your top front teeth will hit the fronts (buccal /facial side) of your bottom front teeth, many orthodontists shy away from doing it that way. It is often not worth the risk of wearing away the lingual sides of the top teeth, thereby creating a whole new problem that needs to be fixed.
    I'd suggest that you ask your orthodontist why she did it that way, and in future, make sure you know what you're getting beforehand.
    It's easy to assume that ';ceramic braces'; means ceramic on top and bottom. But while ';apple pie'; means pie crust on top and bottom, ';pumpkin pie'; does not. And most of us know and readily accept that. How weird would you think it was to see a pumpkin pie with a crust on both the bottom and top?
    My point is that it is ok (and expected, really) that you ask questions. After all, it's your mouth- you wanna make sure you know what's going on.
    That's exactly what I did, but it was my choice. I didn't want to pay the extra money to put ceramic on the bottom. Besides that, ceramic are a little bulkier - I can feel the difference. I think having them on the bottom would have been too irritating. And besides that, my lower teeth don't show much unless I really smile big, so it's no big deal for me.
    I don't know why your ortho did that without consulting you - if you're a minor perhaps that was your parent's choice?
    I had clear on the top and bottom. My top teeth would rub aganst the clear braces and started scraping away my tooth. Now I have to get bonding when they take my braces off. They decided to remove the clear from the bottom and put the silver on. They said they don't chip the teeth like clear braces do. My top teeth quit chipping once he put the silver on. I wish I had known this. Now I get to pay to have the chips in my teeth bonded :{
    I had it this way when I was a kid.
    To tell the truth I don't know why.
    Are metal braces more expensive then the clear ones?
    just asking cuz im going to consultation soon to pick and i need to knoAre metal braces more expensive then the clear ones?
    No the clear ones are more expensive because they are clear and harder to adjust.Are metal braces more expensive then the clear ones?
    The clear ones! I opted for metal. I think the price difference was like $1500 more for clear. I was just being cheap. Also, I thought that over time the clear ones would stain.
    Nope actually its the other way around.
    Metal braces or clear braces? I cant decide!?
    I need braces but i cant decide wether to get clear or metal ones.
    I would want to get metal because you can eat more things %26amp; my friend had them and she looked awsome with them. (She has the emo/scene look so i think they looked mad on her)
    But then again i would want to get clear because im worried that ill look to different %26amp; when people have metal braces i always find myself looking at their mouth more than their eyes and i dont want that happening to me...
    What do you think?Metal braces or clear braces? I cant decide!?
    Metal. Clear braces are harder for your oral hygienist to clean and after a check up they can become cloudy looking. Clear braces stain easily. You would have to stay away from mustard, coffee, soda, tea etc...The clear brackets are not as sturdy as metal and you can easily bite them off which can cause prolonged wear of the braces. You will look different regardless of what braces you get. The clear braces are not really clear since the wire that goes through the braces is metal and it creates an odd look. Both will make you have a beautiful smile as long as you take care of your teeth and wear your retainer after wards.Metal braces or clear braces? I cant decide!?
    most definitely get metal braces.
    the clear ones draw more attention cus they look like you have gunk on your teeth.
    i had clear braces. But people can see the silver wire.
    It did look better than the the metal ones. especially when you put color rubber bands, it looked kinda cute.
    But the clear one takes couple months longer than the metal one. and I paid 600 dollar more. I got clear one coz I got braces when I was 20. if you're really young, metal should do.
    metal braces have more advantages inspite of some disadvantages.
    just get the metal braces. they're not so bad, and it's common too so you don't have anything to worry about. invisible ones are more expensive.
    %26amp; as for noticing them, maybe it's just you... alot of people noticed my braces late and one friend told me, ''didnt you have them from last year?'' just when i got them brand new, haha.
    trust me, you won't look too different. i wasn't looking forward to getting braces eitherr, but once i had them on, it actually looked pretty okay :)
    Go metal! sure you will be very self conscious at the beginning but after a while you will learn to smile even with braces on. Why should you care what other people think? will they pay your dental bills later on? nope...
    Ceramic braces are more discrete but also more fragile and difficult to clean.
    Invisalign is not for everybody and may not get you the best results. They are also expensive.
    Metal braces are easy to clean and generally cheaper. Just make sure you get the right tools for the job (see blog below for tips).
    As for metal braces there are several types. The usual traditional braces that look kind of cute like two strips on each tooth require rubber bands to hold the archwire. These are a pain in the neck for what I hear. There is also the Damon braces (mine) which are more expensive but slightly more discrete (still visible) and easier to clean with your tongue when you can't brush them right away. Better yet, they are self-ligating so no exploding rubber bands!
    Metal. Clear braces are so expensive! And I bet you'll look awesome on them, too. Most people look better when they've got braces and nothing changes at all except for the appearance. Don't worry, you won't look bad. You'll look way better!
    I had metal, no big deal. I asked about the Invisalign and the Orthodontist told me that they don't get your teeth as straight as metal braces. I would rather have them more straight if I'm going to go through all that. You can change the colors too, which is fun.
    metal. they only take about 2 years. clear ones take much longer and you have to really be on it. plus they make your teeth look really glossy and if you get something stuck in them or some discoloration of them, it shows...
    i had metal braces, and an invisaline retainer. you definitely can eat more with the invisaline because you can take it off, as apposed to metal - the brackets can break off. however, you run the risk of losing your clear ones when they are removed, they also break easily, stain and warp if you clean them in hot water. metal ones are more painful (they can cut into your cheeks) and they are more obvious when worn, however they cannot be removed yourself so you chances are you wont have to wear them as long.
    another option you did not consider was getting braces on the back of your teeth. these are called lingual braces and are non visible.
    visit this site for all your options.
    http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi鈥?/a>
    Metal is more practical, they cost less and don't stain, but if I was given the option I would have gotten clear. I only like clear braces when people get colorful ligatures with them. You're right, many people look fantastic with metal braces. You wont look ';too different'; with metal if you choose them, though.
    just get metal ones, they're cheaper and there's a bunch of people your age who are going to have metal braces too, so it won't be a big deal at all.
    What is the shiny part of a cd. not the clear plastic but the metal? surface?
    Aluminium.What is the shiny part of a cd. not the clear plastic but the metal? surface?
    ALUMINIUMWhat is the shiny part of a cd. not the clear plastic but the metal? surface?
    I think you are referring to the gem case of the cd.
    But typically the end is made of semi-durable plastic.
    1. First a thick, soft, clear plastic layer. This layer comprises the majority of the CD's thickness and weight. It serves two purposes. First, it protects the data layer from damage on the play side and Secondly it acts as a lens to focus the CD player's laser onto the data layer so it can more easily read the data (much the way lenses in spectacles help eyes focus on the words on a page).
    2. Next the data layer is where the music and any other information are stored. It's the layer that the CD player ';reads'; in order to create the music, graphics, etc. The data layer is molded or pressed into the top of the clear plastic layer. The data in the data layer is arranged in tracks that spiral like the grooves on a vinyl record (except CDs are read from the ';inside out';, the opposite of vinyl records).
    3. Now a reflective, metallic layer is located on top of the data layer. It allows the disc to function like a mirror, reflecting the CD player's laser back to the detector in the CD player after it reads the data layer It's this layer that gives the CD's play side a shiny appearance.
    4. A thin, hard protective layer is an ultra-thin plastic coating that is added to provide some protection for the reflective and data layers, while also forming a surface upon which the label information can be printed.
    5. Finally the label layer is printed on top of the protective layer. It contains the title, graphics, band and other information to identify the contents of the disc. (label side).
    it's not metal, but the underside of the label. I thinks its to help identify if the disk is fake, fully burned, and if there are problems with the data holding section. (via, multicolored reflections)
    the shiny part is where the data is stored. its an ultrathin sheet of metal, which is y they fry when u stick them in the microwave. the laser burns tiny pits in the metal, which is read by the player. the plastic is meant to protect the data. the reason for the multiple colors is because the pits refract light in many different ways. it also identifies the cd, according to what cd it is, which is y windows media recognizes burned copies of cd's also.
    I can't decide if I should get clear (not invisalign) or metal braces. im 15! what do you think?
    Clear braces are good. They aren't as obvious, and you won't cut your lips as much. There will still be some soreness though. But, they stain and will show if you have taken one bite of anything. Your mouth will look gross after every meal until you run to the bathroom.
    The metal are good as well. They are obvious, but you can change colors with your moods. They do cut your lips some, but only for a little while. They also work faster since they are stronger.
    Also, way to go for not getting invisalign! They are expensive and the effects aren't always permenant.I can't decide if I should get clear (not invisalign) or metal braces. im 15! what do you think?
    I think clear ones look like you need to brush your teeth. I don't really think the metal ones are pretty or anything, but I'd rather that than look like I have bad plaque build up.I can't decide if I should get clear (not invisalign) or metal braces. im 15! what do you think?
    http://magegame.ru/?rf=6972756e6b615f37
    i would go with clear
    I think whatever your parents are willing to pay for. Mine weren't even willing to get my braces at all. Just kidding. Clear, of course.
    clear
    I would rather go with the metal because then yo need to be careful about what you eat and drink cause then it could stain your teeth and when you take it the braces off it'll leave a little square stain afterwards. But its just my opinion, I went with the metal braces
    I had the metal ones when I was younger, and they weren't that big of a deal. I have a friend now who (in his late 20s) has the clear kind--he has to drink soda through a straw so he doesn't stain them. Sounds like a hassle to me.
    At your age, braces are probably fairly common, so I wouldn't worry about needing clear ones, especially if the staining really is that big of an issue.
    um ok, well ignore the person about having plaque build up, because u can take invisalign out to brush ur teeth AND eat. braces are REALLY uncomfortable.. and i'm assuming ur parents are payin for these.. so there are monthly payments available instead of having to pay 5,000 all at once. metal braces will cost u more.
    I had real metal braces and i was very sad when i had to get rid of them. I guess that you just get use to having them around. I would recommend metal, because when people see them they know that you have braces. I had a few friends that had the clear ones and they always looked like they had nasty teeth and they had stuff all over her teeth. They are not completely invisible as they lead you to believe.
    my daughter just got braces. shes 9. all her friends think they are cool. she has metal ones. she gets the color changed every month. i know the metal braces are effective, have you done any research on how effective the invisalign are?
    I say CLEAR! People are claiming that they stain, but if you have done your research and talked to an orthodontist they will tell you that it is not the braces itself that stains but the rubber bands which are easily changed and they change them every time you get your braces tightened. So if they do happen too stain it will only be till you visit your dentist next!!!
  • Clear braces? or regular metal?
    I am 36. Getting my braces on Friday. I wanted ceramic clear, but I am a Starbucks junkie and cannot give up my coffee. Should I go with all silver? I heard the silver brackets are smaller.... I just don't know. I am worried about staining. I have to have my morning coffee. I am sure with clear you will still be able to tell I have braces, so I am not totally worried about the ';how I look thing';, but it is a concern if i go all metal.
    Anyone have input?Clear braces? or regular metal?
    Hello,
    I just had my braces put on last Friday. I had the same concerns as you, I'm 23 years old. I really didn't want to go through the whole braces thing at this age, but the perfect smile of my dreams out weighed my insecurities of dealing with the embarrassment of having braces.
    I approached my orthodontist with my worries, and she said clear braces are more expensive and less durable. If you get them you will have to wear them longer and they stain easily. Most of the time they appear to look yellow in color and don't tend to work as fast.
    With that said...I decided to go with silver. I mean it is more noticeable, but I rather have silver then coffee stained teeth, right. It is according to my ortho more durable too, who wants to spend even more time at the dentist getting the braces repaired.
    Good Luck with everything!!!
    Just think in a couple of years (if you're like me) you'll have the smile you always dreamed rather it's silver or clear :0)Clear braces? or regular metal?
    dont get clear
    i heard that the clear turns colors. specially if you drink coffee like the clear will look brownish? im not sure i heard that i like metal because you can change the colors.
    The clear i think
    It does not matter which on you will get because as long as you brush really well, you won't get the squarish stain when you take it off. The only advantage, I believe, is that you can switch colors when you visit the orthodontist
    go with clear.
    If i were you, I would go with metal, because you dont have to worry about drinking coffee. Just no eating nuts... :+)
    Clear retainer or wire metal retainer?!?!?! BEST ANSWER 10 POINTS!!?!!!?!!!!!?
    What is the difference? Does the patient have the preference of which one they want to get?!?!!? Do they do the same thing?!?! How do I know which one I will get once my braces come off?!??
    clear meaning they are like a clear cover over your teeth and the wire metal one is like a metal wire going around your teeth.
    Thanks! :)Clear retainer or wire metal retainer?!?!?! BEST ANSWER 10 POINTS!!?!!!?!!!!!?
    Although the guy above me says otherwise, I would go with the Clear Retainers, but with the clear retainers you do have to clean it differently than a regular wire retainer, basically, you can't brush them with a toothbrush, because they will get major scatches on them.
    The difference in the clear retainers from the wire ones is that they are unique in that they are molded to your teeth to form a snug fit.
    In some orthodontist offices, you do have the choice to choose, but usually not.
    Yes, they do the same thing as metal retainers
    You'll probably get the wire retainer once you get the braces off, but you can ask your orthodontist about the clear ones, sometimes they cost a little more, but just a little...
    * The thing you need to know about the clear retainers is the fact that they may need to be replaced sometimes more that wire retainers, but this is usually just because people don't clean them properly, take care of them,etc.Clear retainer or wire metal retainer?!?!?! BEST ANSWER 10 POINTS!!?!!!?!!!!!?
    Wired Retainer. Caly, they don't cut the back of your mouth, I'm not sure where you're getting yours from, but they have soft edges designed for just that purpose. The clear plastic retainers are also very bad for keeping food and additional saliva in them (it serves as a perfect fort for bacteria, and an actual crater for extra saliva), which makes your teeth look very slimy. They are also quite hard to clean, considering you have to get in all of the crevices to properly clean them. The wired retainer does none of the above, however, you will have to get used to talking with it for a few days.
    Clear you cant see it just sits on your teeth, it will be up to your orthodontist but they may ask you, they do the same thing- keep your teeth from shifting back to the original place, to know which you will get just ask your orthodontist or get a parent to ask.
    More orthodontists are now using clear ones. Choose clear if you get a choice
    Clear is probably more comfortable. I have the wire ones. I don't like them and I didn't get to choose, but I don't wear them anymore so it doesn't matter.
    clear retainer. they are more comfortable and dont have sharp edges towards the back that can cut your cheeks/tongue.
    Which retainer is more comfortable? The clear one or the metal one? :)?
    help pleasee :)Which retainer is more comfortable? The clear one or the metal one? :)?
    metal retainers
    though you sound a little funny when you speak haha
    i dont like the clear ones because of the plaque that will eventually build up on it and it looks gross when you take it out
    also the metal ones are fun the play with lolWhich retainer is more comfortable? The clear one or the metal one? :)?
    I had both retainers and the plastic one is extremely painful and a hassle to take out and such. With the metal retainer it is permanent and you don't have to worry about taking it out beforing eating and cleaning it. I've never had any problems with the metal retainer breaking and I've had it in for two years whereas the plastic one broke after a few weeks.
    I would say neither are comfortable.
    I prefer my metal one though. I have one of each.
    The metal one is more effective and has fewer problems, my clear one for my top teeth never really fit my teeth because it kept curving so they gave me a metal one.
    I think the metal one looks cooler, and it seems more reliable. Plus, it's more durable, I grind my teeth and I've almost destroyed my bottom clear one by now. My top metal one is just fine.
    I personally have the clear 1 and find it comfortable.
    Just before not to use it as a bleaching tray because it will discolor and turn to yellow.
    I would go with the clear plastic one. It's almost invisible, less expensive of you lose it and it can double as a bleaching tray! You can buy bleach by the tube for about $10 which will last 2-3 applications.
    Clear one sucks cause of the top to put in.
    Metal one sucks cause the bottom part makes you gag.
    Either or they both suck but they both get the job done.
    i like the metal one better because the clear one covers your entire tooth(s) and the metal only covers a line of it.
    Can you apply clear nail polish on gold plated metals to avoid discoloring or tarnishing?
    I just bought a purse with a lot of ';gold'; stuff on it like buckles, zipper pulls, decorative studs, etc.. I'm afraid that with constant handling, these will discolor or tarnish over time. What can I coat on the metal to protect it?Can you apply clear nail polish on gold plated metals to avoid discoloring or tarnishing?
    It will help slow down the process but eventually it will turn too. The best thing to to switch the bag that you use often in other words dont use it everyday just when you want to spurse up your outfit. This happened to a babyphat and rocawear purse of mine they looked hella cute but then the ';gold';starting to become dull. If you find something that help please post.Can you apply clear nail polish on gold plated metals to avoid discoloring or tarnishing?
    yeah of course u can. i do it all the time
    Metal brackets or clear brackets?!?!?!?!? what do you think!!!!?
    METAL!
    YEAHMetal brackets or clear brackets?!?!?!?!? what do you think!!!!?
    clear cause i think they're more comfortable i'd imagine...Metal brackets or clear brackets?!?!?!?!? what do you think!!!!?
    it depends on what you are using the brackets for
    I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    can my orthodontist switch my top clear braces to metal ones? i just got braces put on a few days ago and i absolutely do not like the clear braces at all. i didn't know that they would be bigger than the metal braces and it looks ridiculous to have half and half.
    thanks so much if you answer!! =]I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    It is possible to have the clear brackets replaced with metal BUT, it's drama! You really need to wait a few months or more before you swap to metal brackets because of the fact that you just got braces %26amp; the cement holding the brackets on is to new. The cement will eventually break down given some time.......so be patient %26amp; drink alot of Coca-cola ; ) HINT: the acid in Coca-cola breaks the cement down quicker. That's why the dentist say ';do not drink sodas!'; On a personal note, I think you will be happier with the metal brackets on top anyway considering that the clear brackets tend to turn yellow over a period of time which looks real ridiculous.I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    Drinking Coca Cola to help break down the glue on the top would affect the bottom also. Bad advice. There is no problem switching the clear for metal, there just might be a charge. I am doing the opposite myself.
    Report Abuse
    You should have asked him for the reason.
    Just went to the dentist with somebody that needs braces. The nurse there said that braces run from $3,500 to $9,000, shoot, if you got that kind of money to pay I'm sure they'll take it. Why did you get half and half anyway?
    You probably can get it done, but it will cost more money.
    You can ask your dentist that put them on and I am sure that he/she would be glad to change them.
    Hope this helps. :(|)
    Well, ask your orthodontist to change them. I don't know about clear, mine were metal, and I had to have them switched around because they were put on crooked. It will most likely cost a LOT of money though.
    It's possible but you may get charged for it.
  • Is there a way to clear up scoured metal?
    My fiance's mum came round one night (about 4 days ago) and she decided to clean our built in hob (we live in a newly built apartment block) that had a lovely metal finish, it wasnt chrome and you cant see yourself in it, but it was a lovely shiny metal, but after she was done with it, its not got scour marks and scratches all over it and now it looks dreadful... I hate to look at it.
    Is there any way to fix this? possibly without having to hire a professional to do the work...
    Oh and before you comment, there really was no reason to clean it just yet, well, it certainly did not need a scour, a small wipe over would of sufficed.Is there a way to clear up scoured metal?
    Get some Brasso Duraglit metal polish. This is cotton wadding with a very fine abrasive metal polish absorbed into it.
    Polish the scratched metal until the finish is restored. Depending on how coarse the original abrasive cleaner was, this may take some time and a lot of elbow grease.
    The good news is, you don't have to do it all in one go, or all at once.Is there a way to clear up scoured metal?
    It sounds a though it might be stainless steel. It is hard to get the finish back if it is too badly scratched but one of the mildly abrasive metal polishes will help. If you can't find any, try a chrome cleaner for car brightwork or a car colour restorer polish. It won't discolour the metal but will restore the surface if you polish it for long enough.
    EDIT: what I suggested might make it a bit shiny. If you don't want that, a mildly abrasive kitchen cleaner (without pressing too hard) will give a less shiny finish.
    I'm not familiar with the term hob. I imagine the abrasives in the cleaner scratched the surface of the metal with random scratches. If its a nice flat surface the finish can be restored but it isn't going to be easy for anyone including a ';professional';. I imagine they won't know what to do either. What you're going to have to do is use a sanding material suitable for metal (not for wood), like emery cloth starting with about 220 grit and you are going to have to polish the entire surface with a circular motion. It probably will go a lot better if you use an orbital finish sander. Do the entire surface using the 220 grit, then do the same thing with 280 grit. Then 320 grit. I imagine it will become fairly polished once you get to 400 grit. You might need to even use 600 grit for the final polish. (I don't know how polished it was to begin with).
    I have to get braces. Clear brackets or metal?
    I have to get braces. Im an adult so i dont want them to look stupid. The doctor says that either kind will work well on my teeth. But i cant decide on which ones to get, the clear ones are less visible but they look like you're TRYING to hide them. any suggestions? should i look into invisalign braces?I have to get braces. Clear brackets or metal?
    If you really want your braces not to be very noticeable, then you should get ceramic (clear) brackets. Although I had to pay an extra $600 to get my ceramic brackets. :P Ceramic has it's pros and cons though. For the cons, it stains very easily. Especially if you're a curry person. Also, it breaks off easily if you become reckless when you're eating. I was eating a taco one day, and I broke one of it off. I had to pay $20 extra just to get it fixed, gah. It might not be the same for you, though. Although it looks really nice if you decide you want to put colored rubber bands around them like you do with regular metal ones.
    I'm not too sure about invisalign because I don't have them, haha. I believe my cousin had them and I remember this one time her gums started bleeding because of the edges that started to chafe her gums.
    If my answer is too vague, here's a nice website to look into to help you decide which ones you like better. (:
    http://www.archwired.com/ceramic_vs_metal_braces.htmI have to get braces. Clear brackets or metal?
    well im 22 and just got mine i would advise you to get metal they don't look as good but the clear ones will stain very easy and you will be stuck with them and my orthodontist said the clear one take longer to work as they aren't as strong as the metal, i didn't thin they were worth the hassle.
    Clear are better for adults but make sure you keep them clean because they are clear and yet still braces food gets stuck in them just as it does with the metal ones so just make sure you keep them clean!
    yes you should look into invisialign braces. they are awesome. my friend has them and you cant even tell she has braces.
    Metal Retainer Vs. Clear Retainer?
    I just got my braces off. Which retainer do you recommend? The clear ones, or the one with the metal in the middle?
    I would like to hear from people who has had experience because i've heard different qualities about both these retainers.Metal Retainer Vs. Clear Retainer?
    I would take clear retainer. Metal retainer is annoying.Metal Retainer Vs. Clear Retainer?
    I have had experiences with both types of retainers.
    However, they do different things. The one with the metal wire is usually used when there are still slight adjustments to be made with your teeth, there might be a slight gap or something and the wire retainer can be used until your teeth are all in good alignment.
    The clear retainer is usually used when your teeth are in good alignment and no further adjustments need to be made.
    Your orthodontist will tell you which ones you need. The metal one gives you bit of a lisp at first but you get used to it after a couple of hours. The clear one can be a little awkward too because your teeth are completely covered with plastic, and when you bite your teeth together your teeth don't touch... just the plastic, as a result of the plastic I always clench my teeth at night.
    But either way, your orthodontist will tell you which ones to use and how to use them. They are both good =D I have to wear them both, but only at night, one night I wear the metal one, and the next night I wear the clear one.
    The metal one is a lot easier to keep clean though, and the clear one can stain! The metal one you can also choose an interesting design for the plastic part of it, so if I haaad to pick just one, the metal one is probably the most convenient and it does everything the clear ones do and more.
    The ';types of retainers'; you are referring to are confusing. I know of two types:
    The first type (most common) is a molded plastic retainer with a stainless steel wire on the front of it. This retainer fits on the roof of the patients' mouth.
    The second type (probably more expensive to get, but not specific to certain patients) is also a plastic retainer, but this one only touches the teeth. This retainer does not touch the roof of the patients' mouth and it is shaped like a U.
    My retention phase just ended and I got retainer number one. This retainer is extremely uncomfortable to wear and when my orthodontist put it in my mouth for the first time (about a year ago), I could not believe that this thing in my mouth was my retainer. I recommend that you do not get this retainer if you were very picky about your braces. My orthodontist never even mentioned the other type of retainer so I am not sure if it is a special retainer (for patients with different characteristics). I assume this retainer is much easier to deal with when you wear it, so I would ask your orthodontist about retainer options.
    Should I get clear braces or metal braces and why?
    I am trying to decide whether to get metal braces or clear braces. I am getting them on soon, but i have a while to decide which one. The Metal braces and clear braces both cost the same so i does not have any thing to do with money.
    i want to get clear because they are less noticeable but i know that they are bigger than metal braces. So i do not want my lips to stick out. I do not think that is very attracting.
    I am not sure if metal braces are any better. I here that they are the same but the clear are less noticeable.
    Some of my friends say that ';if im gonna get braces then just show them. the clear is kind of tacky, because if you get clear braces the wire is still noticeable and you do not want people searching and wondering of you have braces or if there just a metal wire on your teeth';.
    I have dine some research and some people say that metal is better and some say that clear is better. so i am stuck.
    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!Should I get clear braces or metal braces and why?
    just get the metal. more people have them so its not like your alone. you might stick out with clear braces, idk which is more common where you live but where i live its metal.Should I get clear braces or metal braces and why?
    Go with Clear inspire clear sapphire braces. They have a orthodontist search box to find one in your local area on the website. They have free consultations an they are better then ceramic an metal braces. You don't have to put wax on them. I bought mine they fit perfect an don't give me mouth sores. If you want fast result go with damon braces. They are small metal braces. Give you straight smile in a few months not a year. Good Luck.
    i agree with ur friends!!
    no matter what braces you get your lips stick out abit!!!
    GO METAL
    id just get clear, people wont notice it unless you tell them too.
    you really should go with metal brace....they look way better, and plus clear braces stain easily
    go with metal(:
    u can change colors, and enjoy it.
    the only difference is that the clear ones are clear and the metal are noticable. but trust me it took my best friend about a month to notice my metal braces. the only way people will ever really tell is if they see you smile. the metal and clear hurt the same and feel the same. i have the metal and i sometimes forget their there . but every one is different to me they barley hurt and others have sever pain
    Metal braces are much more durable than clear ones. Clear brackets have been known to break.
    Go with metal ones because the are actually more comfortable than the clear ones. I have metal braces i like them. Even though you have to check if you have food in your wires every time your done eating, i suggest you get metal. My friend has the clear ones and she regrets it because it applies a lot of pressure to your teeth.
    IDK
    METAL! You will not keep the clear ones in, trust me. I have a plastic, clear retainer and I HATE IT. I definitely would recommend the metals ones, because you can't take them out.
    Metal def. :) You can have different colors, and clear can stain super easy. I think the clear look weird, anyways. You know how they always say, if you got it, flaunt it! ;) I am getting metal in 6 dayss. :) Good luck with braces!
    Is there a clear color for metal braces?
    I know there are two kinds of braces: Metal and ceramic(clear) braces.
    But I have a question about the metal braces. Do they have a color that is clear(just like the ceramic braces). I have heard from someone and I also found it on this website.
    The clear color for the metal braces is in the left column:
    http://www.pbhs.com/ortho/braces/braces.html
    Please tell me if they have a clear color for the metal braces.Is it the same thing as or nearly the same as ceramic braces?
    (I don't want a lot of metal to be seen in my mouth, thats why Im trying to save money by getting metal braces instead of ceramic braces. If they have a clear color for the metal ones than I will save a lot of money)
    Can someone please help me?Is there a clear color for metal braces?
    I have metal braces and yeah, they're cheaper. Getting clear wouldn't be the same cuz you will still see the wires and they get stained when you eat. Colors aren't so bad, but I'm only 13, so I don't really mind having them shown. Clear colors are my last option when I chose. Oh and white, light pink, glow-in-the-dark, and etc. get stained really easily and are shown way more. Ceramic braces- sure, your choice-
    metal braces- clear would still show-
    So if you wanna save money, just get the metal braces. if you dont want your braces to be shown, get ceramic :)Is there a clear color for metal braces?
    Clear won't work. They get stained easily, from spaghetti sauce, curry, you name it, so it'll end up pinkish yellowish. Clear ones won't make a difference since you can probably still see the metal. Why don't you try invisalign?
    Metal braces is better. You get cute colored rubber bands, and make braces look cute. You wear pink ah purple bands, and you braces look cute.
    You'll still be able to see the metal wires.
    I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    can my orthodontist switch my top clear braces to metal ones? i just got braces put on a few days ago and i abosolutely do not like the clear braces at all. i didn't know that they would be bigger than the metal braces and it looks ridiculous to have half and half.
    thanks so much if you answer!! =]I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    i think u can but its gonna cost u lots! i guess the clear ones would have costed u already, but if ur getting metal u will have to pay all over again. if money is not a problem, go for it!
    you will be having it for a long time, and might as well look good! and believe me, metal looks good on upper and lower: i have them too
    good luck with your braces!I have clear braces on the top and metal on the bottom. is it possible for me to change to clear on the top?
    u should!!!!!!!
  • Fish
  • Clear braces or metal(color)?
    Im going thursday to get my second set of braces(i had them 3 years ago and im getting them again)..
    clear like this: http://drhungvu.com/yahoo_site_admin/ass鈥?/a>
    or just the ordinary metal ones. thanks (: oh and if i get the ones where you change the color what colors should i get? i have blue eys, blonde hair, and im a freshy in highschool. and im not a girly girl and all--no pinks and purples (: thanks.Clear braces or metal(color)?
    It doesn't change the treatment time. I say go with the metal ones. I think the clear ones look tackier than the metal. Besides, everyone's got metal and they just look rad.Clear braces or metal(color)?
    The traditional metal ones are much better! (:
    I got my braces with i was a freshman last year. For my first colour, i opted for a neutral GREY! It won't stand out at all and it'll blend in with the metal of the brackets.
    Also, light blue looks really nice! It'll match your eye colour :D
    My fave colour is light PINK! I know you said you don't like pink, but honestly, the pink just blends in with your gums so it's not even noticeable.
    If you're talking about invisalign braces (the clear plastic trays), then the the treatment time with metal braces is faster just because you wear them 24/7 and don't need to take them off when you eat or anything (:
    So i recommend getting metal braces since MANY people in highschool wear them and it looks just fine!
    :D
    Clear retainers or Metal retainers after getting your braces off? In your opinion?
    I'm getting the clear ones after I get my braces off in like 1 month or two. Since thats the only kind of my orthodontist uses. I think those would be better, but I want to know the pros and cons and both. So whats your opinion on them?Clear retainers or Metal retainers after getting your braces off? In your opinion?
    clear
    pros- are less noticeable , are smaller
    cons-you have to have them on longer than metal
    metal
    pros-have them on shorter
    cons-are really noticeable and biggerClear retainers or Metal retainers after getting your braces off? In your opinion?
    Clear! Clear! Clear! I personally think that the clear retainers look much better. You might have to wear them to school or something, so if I were you I would choose clear!!!
    i hear that the clear ones are easier to wear, but they kinda make you teeth look plastic somehow. i don't really now, but thats what my friends say. im getting metal ones because i want them to look real.
    I hate my clear retainer!! But I hate it because you have to wear it at night and it feels like wearing a mouth piece(like for sports) and its harder to keep my mouth closed which i have to do in order to sleep.
    Clear retainer you only have to wear at night, metal 24/7
    Metal is more comfy
    I have the clear ones and I only have to wear them at night so thats good
    Cons: You have to brush them really well, they will build up this stuff under them if you don't
    They tend to make me sleep with my mouth open which gives me bad breath :P
    Clear Brackets vs Metal Brackets for Braces?
    im 20 and getting braces next week. i went to the orthodontist yesterday and they told me that i had two options, clear brackets or metal. i said clear on the spot, but when i got home, i realized that clear meant more money ($600-700 more). I've heard that clear brackets are bigger and easier to stain. however there's less metal to deal with and easier to get wire out according to the people there. i am wondering which brackets should I get? if i get the clear ones, what food should I eat?Clear Brackets vs Metal Brackets for Braces?
    I had the same dilemma as you when I was going to get my braces. I wanted the clear/ceramic ones so that I wouldn't have to deal with everyone I knew commenting on my new braces, but after seriously thinking about it, I ended up going with all metal. It's been 8 months since I've had braces, and I really love them!
    I would recommend getting metal over ceramic for quite a few reasons. First off, like you said, the ceramic braces do cost more. Also, they take longer to work than traditional, metal braces. With ceramic braces, it's not the bracket itself that stains, but the clear ligs they use with them. You basically have to avoid things like coffee, soda, tea, curry, red sauces, etc. You can go and get your ligs replaced if they start to look dingy, but I always thought it'd be a pain to have to go in all the time. The other problem with ceramic braces is that if you have them on top and bottom, you have a greater chance of chipping a tooth and such.
    Plus, it's really fun to pick out colors for your braces! I love trying out different combos.
    Basically, the only advantage of ceramic braces is that they're less noticeable (unless your ligs are stained!).
    Here's a good site to check out for the pros and cons: http://archwired.com/ceramic_vs_metal_br鈥?/a>Clear Brackets vs Metal Brackets for Braces?
    Get the metal ones! And when you have elastics put on choose silver/gray and it isnt noticeable.
    The white/clear ceramic ones are visible. They arent invisable. Also they can damage your teeth, where ever your bite overlaps. Meaning when you bite together if the clear brackets can hit your top or bottom teeth it destroys your teeth! So most orthodontists will put clear only on the top teeth and silver on the bottom. So then it looks stupid.
    Dont waste your money. Everyone will see that you are wearing braces even with the clear ones. And it will still be noticable in pictures.
    It is just as easy to get the wire out of silver braces! They are PUSHING clear on you because they want you to waste your money and pay them more! DUH.
    If you get the clear ones smack yourself in the forehead everyday for being so stupid.
    clear
    i have clear n they look a lot better
    trust me they don't really stain but u have to take care of them n u can even get white elastics n they still dnt show much
    n they DONT take longer to work trust me my dentist said they will work the same
    especially if ur 20 no offense but it looks better
    You should get the metal ones because they aren't that much trouble anyways. You won't be able to notice them once you get used to them. So get the metal ones and don't waste money on the clear ones. Good luck!
    Clear braces or metal ones?
    I need to go back to wearing braces...UGH! I'm sooo mad! But anyway, it's only for 6 months..I guess that's not too bad right?
    I only need them on the top.
    Should I get the clear ceramic ones:
    http://users.southjersey.com/images/419/鈥?/a>
    or the regular metal ones:
    http://www.brace4success.com/metal_brace鈥?/a>
    and how much bigger are the clear ones? are they like uncomfortably bigger?
    Please heelllppp. I'm getting them Aug. 12.Clear braces or metal ones?
    Clear!! they only look like a retainer if there the clear ones not so bad theN! nd teh clear ones are the same almost so no worries! just stick with clear my sister has ones on her bottom jaw and shes had them FOREVER!! nd food dont get stuck in the clear ones lol!Clear braces or metal ones?
    I have actually wore both because I ended having to wear braces twice. The first time I had the ceramic which I hated because the elastics that hold the wire to the brackets stained easily. The second time around I decided to go with the metal which I liked a lot better. The metal was also more comfortable to wear because the brackets are smaller. I only had to wear the metal braces for about 8 months. My orthodontist told me that if I chose the ceramic I would have ended up wearing them for at least a year or longer because the ceramic are not as strong as the metal. Here is a link that gives you the pros and cons of ceramic vs metal.
    http://www.archwired.com/ceramic_vs_meta鈥?/a>
    I have the metal ones.. My doc didn't give me a choice.. you should see if the cost is different.. could be a matter of a $1000 or no difference at all.. go with the cheaper one since you only have to wear for six months.. don't forget to wear your retainer!!
    I've heard the ceramic ones get discolored and look nasty...I had metal in the 90's and I think they're still the best way to go if the problem is too bad for a retainer type correction.
    Clear ones and don't worry they aren't uncomfortable. I have them on the top and they are fine. They are a little bigger, but so are your top teeth.
    get the metal ones, the clear ones look funny.
    Get the regular ones. The clear ones look unattractive in my opinion.
    i got clear on top metal on bottom :D but you got to be 15 to get clear i got mine at 13 and had no problem!!
    The regualr kind. The clear kind look funny cause the wire is running through the tooth, and u cant see the plastic.
    regular! the clear ones just look like you have gunk on your teeth.
    regular metal ones. never had braces though.
    Never had Braces
    the regular metal ones, the clear look... worse
    Metal...they work better sweet...oh and i am in a rare good mood so taht's why i was so nice...
    Metal Retainer vs Clear Retainer?
    How long does it take to make a Metal Retainer and how long does it take to make a Clear Retainer.
    I'm going to my orthodontist tommorow and they said im getting impressions for my retainer and then 3 weeks later im going to get it and get my braces removed. it doesn't make sense because i thought it takes a couple of hours to make a retainer. Please help me
    also don't they need to remove your braces for impressions?Metal Retainer vs Clear Retainer?
    Clear retainers take a shorter time to make then Metal. The time varies. Clear ones take only an afternoon. I'm getting the metal ones. I got my braces off 22nd and I'm going in for my retainer on Tues. Its better for you to get the retainer earlier. Since your teeth will shift. Also Clear retainers are called Essix and Metal ones are called Hawley.
    Yes, I find it weird they are doing impressions for you tommorrow. You need to have your braces off for impressions. I got my impressions after I got my braces off.
    I'm getting Hawley(metal). I did my research and Hawley seems better in the long run. Much more durable, doesn't shift your bite. It can last a life time and you can eat with them on(kind of). Essix, for example can break easily if you have a clenching problem. And essix, tend to discolor overtime. Metal Retainer vs Clear Retainer?
    okin my ortho i got my retainer in a matter of a few minutes and you have to have your braces off to take the impresions
    How can i clear up bright red semi-gloss wood/metal paint off my garden path.about half a pint spilled.help!?
    its right in the traffic area to my back door and is now dryHow can i clear up bright red semi-gloss wood/metal paint off my garden path.about half a pint spilled.help!?
    it depends on the surface it spilled on.
    If it's concrete it becomes dificult but not impossible. start wit paint thinner and get tt as clean as possible. then let it dry and finish with a wire brush (atatchments for drills or other power tools will make this easier and faster)
    If it's in the dirt just scoop up the top layer of dirt with the paint.
    If it's paving stones just clean as best you can and then turn the stones over.
    If it's wood you will need to sand and refinish.
    Hope this helps, Good luck.How can i clear up bright red semi-gloss wood/metal paint off my garden path.about half a pint spilled.help!?
    Paint thinners are going to make a mess. If it is concrete then the best thing to do is rent a power washer and slowly blast away the paint, being careful not to let the blast of the wand stay too long in one location or it may pit or damage the path. Good Luck!
    Read...
    All Quiet on the Orient Express - by Magnus Mills.
    They paint the entire path the colour that they spilt because it was easier than cleaning it up.
    If it is flag stones turn them over other wise it will be hard to get off. The paint will have soaked into the concrete and bonded to the path.
    Get scraping and pour some paint remover on it or use a blow heater paint remover to soften it up
    If your path is paving slabs you could turn them over......or....
    perhaps you could paint the whole path with red flooring paint.
    Use terps and a scraper.
    Or you could draw the shape of a man lying down with a walking stick round it in white tape.
    If its dry then I think you've had it. You'll just have to wait for it wear away gradually over time.
  • Is there a clear line between rock/metal genres?
    It seems like no matter what genre you can think of it flows into or is connected to another somehow... Any other thoughts on this?Is there a clear line between rock/metal genres?
    You're on target correct in how music from one genre evolved into another---yet direct comparisons to pure examples of these genres are starkly different.
    Hard as it is to believe, jazz fused off into facets of Swing, Big Band, Chicago Blues, Dixieland and Delta Blues. Add a hint of fast paced Gospel into the mix....and you have an explosion of the early Doo-Wop that got coined ';Rock And Roll';......and even THAT got splintered off into what became known (largely from this rockin' white boy from Tupelo named Elvis) as ';Rockabilly';.
    Then someone playing around w/ a blues tuned electric guitar went Picasso and......wham!! Enter the 60's psychedelic scene. Ever notice how lame it began at the decade's beginning.....and how the amped drives got cranked up by 1970, then went into ';mellow folk'; mode?? However, by 1977, Rock experienced a renaissance of all sorts of textures and unique sounds that made each band stand out on their own merit.
    Still, someone kept experimenting w/ those guitar pickups, strings.....and amped drives.
    Enter Heavy Metal: Founded by Black Sabbath/ Ozzy, Dio, Judas Priest. I think we saw some red flags when metal went ';Wayne's World / Big Hair'; ( Warrant, Poison, Great White).
    And why did someone promote those punked out, meth-high kids from Seattle and splash the scene w/ ';grunge';---which sadly, fungus grew into ';alternative';----which brazenly has DEvolved into junk that holds no merit.
    The Rock gods left the music into the hands of kids who have failed us all.Is there a clear line between rock/metal genres?
    I am not really sure about clear lines. What I do know is in this section of YA there definately are NO lines. Considering the fact there are questions anywhere from the Jonas Bros to Led Zeppelin.
    I imagine this is a question where no answer can truly come out correct.
    Another thing I have noticed is that people, the music industry or maybe the media have come out with so many different labels or names for different kinds of rock I don't have a clue of what's what anymore myself. All I know is if I like what I hear, I don't give a damn what it's called.
    I dont think a name matters too much! I think there is a slight difference between hard rock and heavy metal but basically its an image marketing thing.Just keep rocking and enjoy what you like mate!!
    Each genre is metal, yes but different guitar styles/ideologies and a certain mind frame distinguishes a genre of music.
    yes metal just usually has lower tuned and faster guitars and heavy vocals
    Who does this ALBUM ART belong to? Classic Rock/Metal Band. Clear Description given, please help!?
    Hi, I was wondering if anyone could please tell me which artist this album art belongs to?
    I'm pretty sure it would be defined as classic rock or metal, probably pre-90's, definitely no later.
    I grew up listening to it, but i now have no way of recalling, asking anyone who would remember it, or finding the cd itself, I just have a clear image of the album art in my memory.
    The album displayed a nude girl curled over with dark hair (unsure of what direction she was facing) under a banquet table covered in food stood on a grey stone floor. There was a goblet of red wine tipped over on the table, which was dripping onto the floor and possibly onto a part of the girl.
    There may have also been a dagger of some kind on the floor, and the wine on the girl could be blood?
    Looking at other artists, and the image i have in my head of it, made me think that it might be a heavier metal band?
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as this has been bothering me for quite some timeWho does this ALBUM ART belong to? Classic Rock/Metal Band. Clear Description given, please help!?
    That would be the self-titled release by King's X which had the single ';Black Flag'; released in 1992. A very good, underrated band %26amp; album.
    Clear Braces Vs. Metal Braces?
    so, at my orthodontist they cost the same but i dunno which to get, like, i don't want them super noticeable but i hear that clear braces stain and look gross, what do you think???Clear Braces Vs. Metal Braces?
    Well that's all up to you to decide... I myself have clear on top and metal on bottom, i find it cool and love it... And no the clear braces don't stain, i got clear on my top teeth and never any trouble yet!!!
    Clear braces or metal?
    So I'm 14 and getting braces in a couple of weeks and I want to know weather I should get clear or metal. Metal is much more obvious but when you do notice clear i looks really weird. Here are some pics!
    Metal:
    Thanks!Clear braces or metal?
    I had to have braces twice and i had both clear and metal so i know how hard it is to make a decision between the two. I have small teeth so i thought by getting clear braces my teeth wouldn't all look black. The clear braces are cool but they stain really easy and can make your teeth seem more yellow. Also clear brackets are easier to break.There's Pros and Cons to everything. Good Luck.
    P.S. Don't get yellow or lime green bands. they make your teeth look disgusting!Clear braces or metal?
    i'd say clear. I have metal and i hate it cause i can't see whats up behind it. if u get clear you can actualy see how they are changing. good luck braces hurt the first time with the wire.
    Metal is the way to go!!
    i have the damon 3 braces.
    they don't hurt as bad, you go to the orthodontist fewer times, they take a shorter treatment period %26amp; aren't very noticeable.
    i get mine off this month... maybe!
    i'm going to miss them!
    they gave me so much confidence.
    %26lt;a href=';http://s151.photobucket.com/albums鈥?target=';_blank';%26gt;%26lt;img src=';http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/鈥?border=';0'; alt=';Photobucket';%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;
    there they are on me!
    Since you're still gonna have that icky wire get colored.
    You can do all kinds of patterns and stuff. :p
    It's kinda cool. =D
    go for the clear ones
    omg get the metal i know this from my own experience !
    i have clear and it sucksssss so badlyy !
    it makes your teeth look gross
    go woth clear!!! i think it looks more sophisticated.
    hmm,
    sometimes when you get colored braces (in the right color) they bring out your eyes and give you a really pretty look.
    it just depends on your face.
    lol
    Both are obvious. Clear would look like you have retainers in. Go with metal...you can make it pretty and colorful.
    clear braces are less obvious , but metal braces work better at correcting teeth, I belive clear braces get easily damaged, the brackets always break off.
    i say metal because u can change the coulor anytime u want
    THE METAL ONES W/ COLOR LOOK CUTER
    clear ones are more breakable, they are the same material as some glass products.
    im about ur age and im getting braces soon 2, i would suggest the metal b/c they may b more painful but they will straighten ur teeth better than clear!!
    Metal for sure....clear ones end up having a yellowy tinge to them...and depending on what you eat/drink, they could look really bad after 6 months of wearing them.
    Metal with white bands on them look the best. Either way they are going to be noticed.
    clear! i dont think it looks bad at all. thats what im getting in a couple weeks! im even getting them with the clear band
    just get metal. there braces it really doesnt matter. anyways good luck choosing.
    Why are both so colorful? I would do clear because they have a more cosmetic appeal. Metal are okay too though; just don't do so colorful!
    Both me and my sister have had metal braces. They are a lot easier to keep clean than white ones. Forget about eating oreos, cheetos, or pizza with the white ones.. unless you want yellow braces!
    To hide the metal color.. try choosing a light color for the elastics, like pale baby blue, clear, pale pink, etc.
    Are clear or white braces more expensive than metal?
    not really...they cost 2 or maybr 3times more than metal braces....tht is why they r almost invisible....give some credit to the inventor for god sake...wht a dumb question.....Are clear or white braces more expensive than metal?
    Yes, I was going to get invisalign which is the clear retainer braces that are now available. Way more expensive than braces, but if you are trying to make the braces as unidentifiable as possible, they are very useful and it fixes teeth in most cases faster than braces.
  • Metal or clear braces?....?
    I have metal braces, and I just think I look weird with them no matter what. I've had them for like 9 months and I still am not used to them. I only have them for a slight overbite and my bottom teeth are a little crooked, but besides that they're pretty straight.
    I have the braces on for about another year.
    But I'm beginning to regret choosing metal over clear ceramic braces...I'm also a dancer and so when I smile on stage I like it to be less noticeable. Plus all my friends are getting their braces off.
    Well anyway, should I switch from metal to clear braces? How much would it cost?
    Thanks(:Metal or clear braces?....?
    i know that metal braces look wierd when you smile but trust me it would look even wierder if you just ate chocolate with clear braces and they turned brown. When i first got my braces i got clear ones and about after 4 months i got them changed to metal, cos everytime i used to eat something my braces would be that colour. If i had cordial it would turn green or red. If i had chocolate they would turn brown, if i had spaghetti bolognese it would turn red orange. Also i found that everyday my braces seamed to get more yellow and make my teeth look the same. My friends also used to comment on weather ive brushed my teeth latley or not. Trust me they may not look good the metal ones but its better that looking like you dont brush your teeth. Im glad i changed to metal braces.Metal or clear braces?....?
    i had metal
    and trust me
    the clear ones actually look tacky
    my cousin has them, and they actually can discolour and look like a pale yellow colour, which will obviously make your teeth look yellow
    not worth the extra money
    To tell you the truth. The clear one are not worth paying at least 4,000-5,000 dollars. The metal braces are like 3,000 dollars. My friend has clear braces but they really don't look clear. So I think you should get the metal ones.
    I have had braces for a while, mine are metal. I would chose metal because they are cheaper.
    clear definately :)
