im getting braces next week. (2ndtime) i had the metal braces before. now 6years later im getting them again. (because i have kaw problems so i needed surgery to continue a 2nd stage) ANNYWAYSS i cannot choose if i want ceramic (clear braces) or the metal ones. the only reason why i want ceramic is because its my senior year and i really dont want to look ugly in braces. i went to my ortho. today and the girl told me its not worth it. so can you give me reasons why its worth it and why its not worth it. oh yea it cose about 285 dollars extra.I CANNOT DECiDE IF I WANT CLEAR OR METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!?
get ceramic: look better, and no one really notices them as much. they are also more comfortabel than metal.I CANNOT DECiDE IF I WANT CLEAR OR METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Ceramic braces tend to stain. If you like to eat foods with red sauces or hot sauce, anything with a color to it. They will contribute to staining on the ceramic braces. It is definately worth it to get the metal. They move faster and do not get stained. Trust me high school is not everything and when you get your braces off you will be gorgeous and wont have to worry about what anybody in high school has to say! ;)
well i got invisilign about 2 years ago and not alot of people realized i had them until i told them. when you take pictures and talk to epople you can even see them unless they are really looking at your teeth. i had an overbite and it fixed that and i didnt have jacked up teeth but i needed some fixing to do and it took about a year to fix it...its easy and simple but it costs alot..if you have dental insurance it should cover some of it! hope u find and get what you want
It's really your decision, since you'd have to weigh up if the better appearance is worth the extra money! Metal braces are not perfect but neither are ceramics - they seem to have problems with staining, and treatment time is longer as the teeth move more slowly (there is more friction involved).
Both my boys choose to have the metal. The dentist stated it's totally a cosmetic thing. So if you have the extra money and you want to try to make the braces less obvious go with the clear.
Metal, clear gets dyed if you eat Speghetti etc,
get the new kinds of metal braces, I have them, and they rly rnt bad at all, the move fast, u get used to them sooooooo quick, etc
I would get clear. Like invisalign or whatever. The bad thing about them are you have to take them out when you eat, and before puting them back in you have to brush your teeth.
it'd be nice if you can afford them
pros: clearer, more natural looker
cons: expensive, get dirty fast, dont have colors (if u want them)
