I was going to paint the gas tank on my minibike, but when I stripped the old paint, the metal looked really nice, with no rust. I was wondering if shellac would be a good clear coat, or if need to use a clear acrylic or enamel. ThanksCan I use clear shellac on bare metal?
Shellac is not waterproof and it gets dull to moisture.
