Absolutely NOT safe. After a piercing, you need to leave the original stud in place- time varies according to the piercing, but your piercer should have told you how long to leave it in.

also best to get a ring first off as you tend to heal faster and reduce inflammation due to the fact that you can turn out the gunk that builds up in the wound and clean it properly. also keep it dry and use salt water to wash it when possible (mix some Celtic sea salt granules with a little warm water clean piercing and turn through, then gently blot/pat dry thoroughly with a clean dry paper towel that does not have flaking tissue fibers or a cotton bud.
