Metal, clear ceramic, invisalign, lingual braces?

I'm getting braces tomorrow, and I'm very much dreading it. My orthodontist is keeping my expander on while I have braces (I thank her for that, I appreciate her trying to make my experience all the better *sarcasm*) so unfortunately I can't get invisalign or lingual braces, but maybe after she takes off the expander? And everyone is telling me just to get the metal ones, but I really feel that this will disrupt my appearance =(

I'm in the middle of year 9 at the moment, 15 years old. A lot of my friends got their braces in year 7 or 8, so they don't have long to go. Please help me, I do need advice. My top teeth are really straight anyway, I'm PO at my ortho right now.Metal, clear ceramic, invisalign, lingual braces?
You COULD get Invisalign after the expander comes off, but that would mean another cost for your parents - and they might not like that!

Usually the fee they are already paying includes the expander and 'normal' braces. Metal braces don't look quite as good as clear, but they work better and will be off quicker. Lingual braces are just about history. Invisalign does the same job for less cost and minimum discomfort.

BTW, the expander has to stay on for about 6 months after it's expanded to let your body catch up with the new shape of your jaw.

Try talking to your orthodontist. Most of us are humans too! And the better you two get on the easier and quicker it will be.Metal, clear ceramic, invisalign, lingual braces?
just get the normal one. like it'll be all worth it in the end, seriously =)

im almost done my treatment, and time flies by ! by the way, you can take advantage of ur braces pain and use it into excuses haha i dont know, i do it =) it wont distrupt ur appearence, some people think braces are cute lol
