well actually depending on what was done to you teeth and the orthodontic appliances used is to what type of retainer your going to get. Your orthodontist will make the decision. I got mine off and he re molded my teeth and told me to come back a few days later and I had a clear one. I tend to like the clear ones better they aren't as noticeable and especially after just getting your braces off you want everyone to see your pearly whites :D you don't want to walk around with more metal in your mouth. However the clear ones can make things difficult...especially trying to talk for the first few weeks lol. But good luck.What should i get a metal retainer or a clear one??
